N.J. Arya Samaj lauded
-- Hundreds ofchildren assisted

PRIME Minister Sam Hinds has lauded the valuable work done by the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir, Inc. Humanitarian Mission in helping “to lessen human suffering” in Guyana through its charitable work and donations to the needy and disabled.
Speaking at one of the Missions’ presentation exercise on Sunday at the Arya Samaj Mandir in Enmore, East Coast Demerara, the Prime Minister reflected on his association with the Humanitarian Mission last year in Port Mourant and quoted that “the hand that giveth is as blessed as the hand that receiveth”.
Mr. Hinds also lauded and endorsed the activity of the Mission by pledging his continued support as it continues “to work towards the lessening of human suffering”.
The New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Inc. in the US and the Guyana Central Arya Samaj Humanitarian Mission is currently providing much needed assistance and donations to several charitable organizations across Guyana.
The Humanitarian Mission’s activity at Enmore on Sunday was graced by the presence of Prime Minister Hinds, Minister of Human Services and Social Security Ms. Priya Manickchand, and United States Ambassador Mr. David Robinson.
Its activities this year was endorsed by all three as they individually applauded the efforts of the New Jersey based Humanitarian Mission in bringing support to the needy children of Guyana in an attempt to make the children more comfortable in their school life.
Minister Manickchand, in her remarks, charged parents with their obligation to ensure that they allow their children to access all provisions being made by the government and non-governmental organizations such as the NJARMInc/GCAS Humanitarian Mission to the optimum.
The Minister also mentioned the collaboration between her Ministry and this Mission in future endeavours.US Ambassador Mr. David Robinson, in his remarks, expressed his satisfaction and encouragement for the contribution being made by the Guyanese Diaspora and the American people who contribute generously to the activities of the NJARMInc./GCAS Humanitarian Mission.
He has indicated the willingness of his office to support the Mission in its future activities.
More than 250 children of nursery, primary and secondary school age were provided with school items during the activity in Enmore.
Last week the Mission made contributions to the Alpha Children Home in New Amsterdam, the Dharam Sahala, and the Camal’s Orphanage at Albion.
Last Saturday, the Humanitarian Mission, under the leadership of Pandit Suresh Sugrim of the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir Inc. and founder of this Mission, and Dr. Ramesh Sugrim, President of the Guyana Central Arya Samaj, and head of the Guyana Chapter of the Mission, distributed school items to over 80 needy school children at the Vreed–en–Hoop Arya Samaj Mandir.
These donations are open to Guyanese children of all races and religion. Each secondary and primary school child that benefited from this year’s activity was given $1,000 to assist in the purchasing of the school boots.
At the distribution exercise in Enmore on Sunday, the following persons were presented with certificates from the New Jersey Arya Samaj Mandir, Inc. Humanitarian Mission in reconition of their outstanding and invaluable service to the community: Prime Minister Hinds, Ambassador Robinson, Minister Manickchand, Pt. Suresh Sugrim, Pt. Kamal Dhanesar, Mrs. Parbattie Sugrim and Dr. Ramesh Sugrim.
